Cool, you've read 472 picture books. Now what?

Teaching your child to read doesn’t have to feel overwhelming

If you're feeling the pressure to get your child “ahead” or just want to make sure they don’t fall behind…

If you’ve tried a few apps or worksheets but everything feels a bit scattered, outdated, or just not made for your busy, real-life parenting style…

You're not alone—and you're not doing anything wrong.

The truth is, the way we were taught to read? Doesn’t really work anymore.
And you don’t need a teaching degree or a million hours to give your kid a confident start.

I know that 11PM scroll all too well—sitting in the dark Googling “how to teach reading”

Imagine going from second-guessing every step…

to knowing exactly how to support your child’s reading journey with confidence, clarity, and ease.

Right now, it might look like:

  • Wondering if you're doing “enough” or if they’re somehow behind

  • Piecing together random tips from Instagram reels, parenting blogs, and half-finished activity books

  • Feeling like you're either doing too much or not doing it right

  • Dreading the daily struggle when your child avoids reading time or melts down over a worksheet

But it can look like this instead:

  • Feeling confident in how your child is learning—and actually seeing the progress

  • Having go-to, age-appropriate strategies that make reading feel like play (not pressure)

  • Connecting with your child during reading time instead of feeling like the “mean teacher”

  • Letting go of comparison and trusting that you're building a solid foundation

  • Watching your child light up when they read something on their own for the first time (and knowing you helped make that happen)

That’s the shift we’re creating here.
From scattered, stressed, and unsure…
To empowered, equipped, and excited.

Because when you understand how reading actually develops—and how to support it in a way that works for your family—everything changes.

Read Words

From sounds to words

August 12, 19, 26

What You’ll Learn in the Reading Words Workshop

This isn’t just about guessing or memorizing. In these 3 live, one-hour workshops, you’ll learn how to help your child blend sounds into real words—with simple techniques that actually work.

Here’s what we’ll learn together:

What blending really is—and why it’s the key to reading
You’ll discover how blending works in your child’s brain, and how to make it click using easy, effective strategies that go beyond “sounding it out.”

How to teach your child to go from “b-a-t” to BAT!
We’ll walk through step-by-step methods for blending 3-letter words, including games, tapping techniques, and playful prompts that make reading feel doable.

Why oral blending comes first—and how to practice it anytime
Before letters even come into play, your child needs to hear how sounds come together. You’ll get fun, low-pressure ways to build this skill on the go.

The #1 mistake parents make when blending—and how to avoid it
We’ll talk about what not to say when your child gets stuck on a word—and what to do instead so they stay confident and keep trying.

You didn’t sign up for parenting just to stress over letter sounds.

You're here to snuggle, connect, and cheer your kid on—not spiral down another “is this the right way?” rabbit hole.

Because the less time you spend second-guessing... the more time you get to actually enjoy those reading milestones.

And that’s what we want, right?
Confidence for you. Progress for them. Less pressure for everyone.

(Because learning to read should feel like a win—not a worry.)

You’re not the only one wondering, “Am I missing something… or is this reading thing way harder than I thought it’d be?”

And no, you’re not the only one who’s second-guessing every time your child forgets a letter sound, flips their b’s and d’s, or melts down over a simple word.

Before you freak out…

If thoughts like these have crossed your mind:

  • Shouldn’t this feel a little easier by now?

    • Totally get it—and no, it’s not just you. It’s hard because no one taught us how to teach this stuff.

  • What if I’m doing it “wrong” and I mess them up?

    • Honestly? You care enough to ask that question, which means you’re already doing a great job.

  • Is everyone else secretly ahead while I’m still piecing it together?

    • Nope. Most of us are figuring it out as we go—you’re not behind, you’re right on time.

You are so not alone.
And more importantly—you’re not behind.

This is exactly why the Hand-in-Hand Workshops exist:
To help you feel clear, capable, and supported as you guide your child through one of the most important skills they’ll ever learn.

And before you ask…

No, you don’t have to be a teacher to be able to teach your kid to read.

I’ll show you exactly what to do (and what to skip) in a way that actually makes sense—and feels doable, even on your busiest day. No teaching degree needed—just you, your kid, and a few fun little tools.

This course was made for parents like you…

Hand-in-Hand Workshops

are perfect for you if…

✔️ You’ve been thinking, “I just want someone to tell me what to do”—because trying to figure it out on your own is driving you a little nuts

✔️ You’re not trying to become a teacher, you just want to help your kid learn to read without turning it into a daily battle

✔️ You’re over Googling and guessing—and ready for something that actually works (and doesn’t take hours of prep)

✔️ You care so much about getting this right—and just need someone to walk with you through it

Yeah, you could keep Googling…

Or you could stop wondering, overthinking, and second-guessing every little step.

Hi, I’m Lindsay - Kindergarten teacher 10+ years & mom of two

My own kids aren’t quite at the reading stage yet, but I’ve worked with so many students over the years who were struggling—and so many parents who just wanted to help but didn’t know how.

I’ve seen firsthand how overwhelming it can feel when you're trying to figure out what your child actually needs… and wondering if you're somehow already behind.

And yep—I’ve definitely had my own 11PM Google spirals (not over reading yet, but ohhh… the sleep regressions and potty training!? Been there 🙋‍♀️).

That’s why I created these workshops: to give you what I know works with kids, and what I wish more parents had access to—simple, step-by-step support that brings more calm, clarity, and connection to this big reading milestone.

No pressure, no guesswork—just a clear path and some seriously doable tools that’ll have you thinking, “Wait, that’s it? I can totally do this.”

Answering your Questions

How long are the sessions?

Each session is 1 hour long — just enough time to dive deep without feeling like you're stuck in a Zoom marathon. There are 3 sessions total, spaced out to give you time to try things out with your kiddo in between.

What if I can’t make a session?

No stress at all! Every session is recorded, so you can watch (or rewatch) it whenever it works for you — even if that’s after bedtime with a cup of hot chocolate in hand.

Do I need to buy anything before we start?

Nope! I’ll send you a simple list of things you probably already have at home (think paper, markers, maybe a snack for you). No fancy tools or expensive programs needed.

Is this workshop just for homeschooling parents?

Not at all! Whether your child is in school, homeschooled, or somewhere in between, this workshop is for any parent who wants to feel more confident helping their child learn to read.

What age is this best for?

It’s designed for parents of kids aged 3–7

Okay, real talk…

If you’ve made it all the way down here, you’re clearly thinking about it. And I get it — signing up for something new can feel like a thing. But here’s the deal:

You don’t need to be a reading expert.
You don’t need to have a Pinterest-perfect homeschool setup.
You just need to care — and you already do.

This workshop is here to make things easier, not harder. I’ll walk you through it step by step, and you’ll leave feeling like, “Okay, I’ve got this.” And honestly? That confidence is everything.

So if your gut is whispering “this might be what we need” — listen to it.
Let’s do this together. You in?

👉 Grab your spot before they’re gone — I keep it small so we can actually connect.
